OBJECTIVE:  I am persuing a career in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) in latin america, asia, or perhaps on a tropical island.

ABOUT ME:  My name is Chris Burleson. I am a mature (age 41), professional looking, citizen of the USA, from a family-oriented, christian background (see photo).  Wherever I travel, my family goes too.

EXPERIENCE:  I have 1 year of experience teaching behavioral skills to troubled children in the USA, and 1 year of teaching behavior skills to teen-agers in the Dominican Republic.  I also have about 40 years of experience speaking English.

No matter where I go, these are my companions.

WORK HISTORY:
1.  I worked at Escuela Caribe from 08/2004 until 08/2005 as a house-father at a children's home in the Doninican Republic.  My duties included role-modeling proper attitude and behavior (mentoring), assigning work activities (chores), administering discipline (punishment), organizing recreational and cultural activities (fun time).
 
2.  I worked at French Camp Academy from 07/2002 until 07/2003 as a house-father at a children's home in French Camp, Mississippi.  My wife was also employed as the house-mother.  Our duties were basically the same as listed above.
 
3.  I (and my wife) worked at C.L.O. from 05/2006 until 05/2007 as house-parents, teaching life skills to a small group of mentally disabled adults in our home. 
 
4.  I owned and operated a small (18-wheeler) trucking business from 01/1999 until 01/2002, operating throughout the S/E part of the USA.
 
5.  I have also been involved in other business enterprises, throughout the years, which are unrelated to teaching English as a second language.

EDUCATION:  I have studied the Bible, and am knowledgable of business, but have not persued a nationally accredited degree, neither am I willing to obtain a TEFL certification, unless it's on your company's time and expense.
